Students will learn the basic requirements of film acting and how it differs dramatically from acting on the stage. They will also be taken through a series of mock film & TV auditions and provided with an understanding of how these auditions are run and how the all-important casting process works.
Information on Casting Directors, Agents, and Producers is also discussed. Students may obtain a copy of their work via WeTransfer or Dropbox upon request.
Class size is limited, allowing each actor a solid amount of time in front of the camera for feedback and re-directs.
Topics of study include: How To Work With a Reader; What Casting Directors and Producers Are Looking For; Who's In “The Room” and What To Ask; Guest Stars, Co-Stars, and “The One-Liner;” Techniques for Cold Readings; and The “Agent–Actor–Casting Director–Producer” relationship.
*Please bring a memorized monologue or a 2-person scene of your choice to perform with a reader.
