This class is for anyone who wants to learn more abut how the voice works, why it doesn’t and who wants to explore how to use their voice more freely, expressively and healthily.
Each class will explore a section of the classic Linklater Voice Progression. Students will be led through a series of exercises in each session, and should come prepared to move in loose, comfortable clothing. Each participant should also prepare some memorized text (a monologue/poem etc).
Participants will come away with a basic understanding of the Linklater progression and a series of exercises and warm-ups to carry with them into their future work.
Fee: $85 for AC members; $100 for non-members

Jen Rabbitt Ring is an actor and teaching artist specializing in Acting, Michael Chekhov Technique and Linklater Voice. She completed Designation training with Kristin Linklater in Orkney, Scotland this summer. Jen is currently on the faculty at the University of Maryland, College Park, and has taught at numerous other institutions including Fairleigh Dickinson University, Westminster Choir College and Rutgers University. She is a company member with Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken, NJ and co-founded the education program of Co-Lab Arts. Recent local appearances include the world premiere of Joe Calarco’s Separate Rooms with Theatre 4615 and She Rode Horses like the Stock Exchange with Taffety Punk. MFA- Rugters University.
