All Levels, Focuses on applying improv techniques to scripted acting whether onstage or in front of the camera.
Warmups and technique drills to instill the basic Improv concepts of Listening, Agreement, and Making Immediate Specific Honest Responses. Then we will move to applying these techniques to simple scenes and scenarios. Dress to move comfortably.
Participants Will Come Away With Basics of Improv Technique and how to apply them to fundamental elements of scripted theater. Focus on making fast, specific choices. You'll have a ton of fun while sharpening one of the most important skills in an actor's toolbox.
Michael Harris has been performing and teaching improv since 2004. He spent seven years as the Artistic/Executive Director of the Baltimore Improv Group (BIG), and has performed in comedy/improv festivals from Philly to Austin and Chicago to D.C. A member of Actors' Equity, Michael has performed at the Kennedy Center, Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre and Spooky Action Theater amongst others. He is an alumnus & faculty member at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and has appeared in over four dozen local and regional commercials and films.
